It appears that the US Border Patrol is now doing general purpose law enforcement work in the Port Angeles area.

They respond to coffee stand robberies: http://www.peninsuladailynews.com/article/20100120/news/301209984

and drunks running through the woods: http://www.peninsuladailynews.com/article/20100121/news/301219988

What is the story behind this?

Take a look at your local police or sheriff’s dept. website- you’ll find incident logs, inmate rosters and other local information.

Take a look at the US Border Patrol Port Angeles Station website: http://tinyurl.com/ya3cypd- look for Any Local information- good luck.

If they have nothing to hide- why wouldn’t they be more open with local information?

Local papers have no sense of curiosity, maybe they don’t hire investigative reporters…

What does it take to get a press credential?

The secretive nature of Homeland Security operations in our area is disturbing.
